Plenty of Fish in the Sea

Kagoshima Bay, known affectionately to locals as Kinko Bay, bustles with an abundance of fish, from the region's iconic yellowtail and amberjack, the hefty form of the bigeye tuna, to even the slightly off-kilter deep-sea creatures that lurk in the bay's extraordinary depths of up to 200 meters. This thriving ocean activity is not only framed by the breathtaking view of Sakurajima, whose volcanic activity routinely decorates the scenery, but is also powered by two strong ocean currents that propel fish and nutrients to the area. Regardless of season, Kagoshima possesses a dynamic range of local fish, such as sea bream and bonito in spring, while autumn boasts spiny lobster and sailfish, sure to delight fishermen of all types. Immerse directly into the splendor of Kagoshima's natural beauty on a fishing excursion guided by the head captain, a lifelong Kagoshima native who spends his time outside of fishing conducting research on and developing fishing lures. After spending a day beneath the open skies and reeling in your bounty, you can even choose to have your catch prepared by a local restaurateur. Experience the authentic flavor of fresh Kagoshima fish, caught with your own hands, cooked to perfection by a culinary master.
