From Michelin chefs to 20th-generation craftspeople, we offer cultural experiences only with those who possess authentic skills, cultural heritage, and a compelling personal narrative.

Because Deeper Japan partners with certified artisans and experts, we have to confirm every booking request personally. As these masters are working outside of the travel industry, concentrating on their art or craft, a booking can only be confirmed after their schedule is checked.

We thank you for your understanding of the master’s time and limited availability as they open their studios uniquely for you.

All Deeper Japan masterclasses and cultural experiences include a certified interpreter guide in your requested language to ensure smooth communication on the day of your booking.

Any non-Deeper Japan guides who accompany guests must book and pay the participation fee, as well as understand that the Deeper Japan guides will lead in facilitating the experience.

As part of our process, Deeper Japan requires upfront payment to respectfully secure the time of the host. Should the master be unavailable on your preferred date, please rest assured that you will receive a full refund.

This is done to ensure that all requests are taken seriously and that confirmation can proceed as soon as the master’s availability is confirmed.

You can absolutely support the master and Japanese craftsmanship by purchasing the artisans’ work.

If you’d like to purchase on the ground during your experience, please communicate with your Deeper Japan guide. In the case of cash-only payments, we can assist in creating custom card payment links to make purchasing items seamless.
