Hooked on Hakata Bay
Rich in natural resources and supporting a thriving fishing industry, Hakata Bay boasts a diverse range of sea creatures that make fishing an adventure in any season. Straddled by the Genkai Quasi National Park, dotted with islands, and filled with scenic coastal views, this region is a hot spot for anchovy spawning, which draws in a wide range of target fish feeders to the waters in search of a quick bite. Sea bass, flounder, sea bream, and red snapper all call home to these waters, while even larger catch, like tuna, thrive farther off the shore in deeper, nutrient-rich waters. As the early morning sunlight dapples golden on the waves, head out via fishing boat to explore the waters of Hakata Bay, guided by the captain and the first mate. Under their careful guidance, cruise from spot to spot in search of the season's freshest fish while enjoying the natural beauty of Fukuoka. Whether you're a seasoned angler or a curious first-timer, this hands-on adventure offers an unforgettable glimpse into Japan’s coastal traditions and the bounty of Kyushu's sea.
