Inking the Storyline

With bursts of color or with the stark contrast of black and white, framed with panels carefully placed upon the page and scattered with dynamic speech bubbles, manga creates visuals that appear to move across the page, though they are static. The origin of manga is said to date back more than a thousand years, with its familiar and contemporary form coming to shape in the post-WWII years. From scrolls to books, manga has graced the paper medium (and now digital media) for centuries and has no set genre(s), allowing for unlimited possibilities of subject matter. At this manga workshop, join a professional manga artist and learn how the masters craft a storyline. Then, try your hand at sketching out a storyline based on your own experience. Finally, under the guidance of the master, craft a completed manga story sequence of your very own storyline.
