Rejuvenating nature
Kyoto is world-renowned for its historic temples, ancient culture, and dazzling traditional craftsmanship, drawing visitors from around the globe. Yet beyond the city’s cultural treasures, Kyoto is embraced on three sides by mountains, offering a wealth of hiking opportunities that many visitors overlook. Among these, the “Kyoto Trail” stands out—a scenic, horseshoe-shaped path winding through the mountains surrounding central Kyoto, cherished by locals for its combination of natural beauty and accessibility. On this experience, you’ll enjoy the Higashiyama section of the trail, guided by one of our certified nature experts who will share insights about the region’s flora, fauna, and seasonal changes. The hike is both invigorating and leisurely, perfect for reconnecting with nature without straying far from the city. Best of all, the trailhead is less than 30 minutes from central Kyoto, making it an ideal outdoor adventure that can easily fit into even the busiest itinerary.
