The practice of Zazen meditation
In the castle town of Izushi lies a magnificent guardian temple dating back 700 years. The Buddhist temple, erected to protect graves of lords and the influential, consists of a main hall and adjoining buildings which are magnificent on their own, but it is the gardens that make the grounds seem an exceptional storybook experience. Join chief priest, Yudo, as he guides you through the practice of zazen meditation. Allow yourself to be enveloped by the sounds of bells and wooden instruments gently wafting through the air as your breathing gradually relaxes. Afterwards, you will enjoy a meal of rice and pickled vegetables for which the temple is famous. In Buddhist philosophy, the meal itself is part of the training of nourishing both body and soul. Each flavorful, strictly vegan meal is steeped in its own profundity. Join us for a cleansing, nourishing experience unlike any other.
