Framed by Fuji

Framed by the iconic silhouette of Mount Fuji, the Fuji Five Lakes region unfolds in quiet forests, open pastures, and lava-shaped terrain forged by centuries of volcanic activity. A landscape of both geological power and cultural symbolism, this is Fuji at its most elemental — and best experienced on horseback. Even centuries in the past, horses played an integral role in Fuji's scenery, where religious pilgrims ventured to summit Fuji, supported by steady cargo-carrying steeds to assist in the journey. Just like those ancient, intrepid travelers, mount up and follow gentle woodland trails and wide clearings with uninterrupted views of Fuji rising overhead, for an entirely new perspective on experiencing Fuji. Experienced equestrian guides lead immersive rides that blend safety and panoramic scenery — an unhurried, deeply grounded way to encounter Fuji’s natural grandeur.
