In the practice of kintsugi, which means “golden joinery”, cracked pottery is given a second life through the binding power of gold and lacquer. Practicing this craft for over 30 years, kintsugi artisan and contemporary artist Tsuyoshi painstakingly restores antique pieces in his atmospheric Kyo-machiya atelier.
