Mist-enveloped waters

Lake Toya is located in the southwestern region of Hokkaido, roughly halfway between Sapporo and Hakodate, in an area rich with natural wonders and unique vegetation. Lake Toya is a caldera (volcanic crater) lake formed following a volcanic eruption over 100,000 years ago. The rough terrain surrounding the lake offers visitors spectacular views that change dramatically with the seasons. The natural beauty is especially captivating in the still, early morning hours of late summer. Join us in experiencing timeless moments of awe as your gracious guide, Yuji, rows the canoe across Lake Toya’s placid, mist-enveloped waters. With nearly 20 years’ experience and a vast knowledge of local flora and fauna, Yuji offers a tour that is richly rewarding for visitors of most any age.
